It is with great sadness that we announce that after a courageous battle with cancer, William Henry Howard passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 81. Husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle and a friend to many. Loving husband to Lynne (nee Begin), for 30 years. Devoted father to Sherry (Marty) Vissers, Shelley (Jeff) Campbell and Katherine (John) Fledderus. Loving Papa to the late BJ (William), Curtis, Atasha, Courtney, Branden, Lionel Devin, Bradley, Katlyn and Mikaela. Big Papa to his 14 great-grandchildren. Deeply missed by; his sisters, Doreen (Gord-deceased) Deeth, Dale (Don-deceased) Johnston and his predeceased sister, Joyce (Don-deceased) Denyer and brother-in-law to Gilles (Line) Begin, Carole (Albert) Imbeault, Diane (Roland-deceased) Basque and predeceased by Paul (Mimi) Begin. Uncle Bill to many nieces and nephews. • Heavy equipment mine mechanic across North America and 29 year employee of Rio Algom in Elliot Lake. • One of the founding members of the Elliot Lake Snow Birds • Life Enjoyments o Family gatherings at his house of 38 years in Algoma Mills o Hunting o Fishing o Pontoon boating o Motorcycling o Spending time with his Lake Lauzon friends o Having a ‘bubby pop’ or two at the Iron Horse in Blind River In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will take place in the spring of 2025. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
