Walter Shields

Walter G. Shields, age 74, of Elliot Lake, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake. He was born on December 20, 1951, in New Liskeard, ON. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Cora Shields. His presence will be missed by his children Richard Laporte, Steven Szep (Vicki Pykari), Jessie Szep and Stephanie Shields, by his grandchildren, Matthew Szep, Cassie Szep, and Leo Linardi. Walter’s siblings Donna Shields Poe, Jessie Shields Thompson and George G Shields (Iris Shields), his nephews Bryce Thompson, Wyatt Shields and John Shields, his nieces, Jenna, Deana, and Aurora, will always remember his kind and thoughtful manner. Walter was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis, whom he admired and loved dearly, and his father, Walter, whom he respected and loved.
