Thomas Owen Latendresse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at St. Joseph General Hospital in Elliot Lake, Ontario, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 23, 1951, in South Porcupine, Ontario, to the late Leo and Annie Latendresse. Thomas was a dedicated and hard-working man who spent 27 years as an underground miner and supervisor at Rio Algom Mines. After retiring, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own custom cabinetry business, showcasing his talent and craftsmanship. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Teri, and his children, Ricky, and Stacy (Eric Belanger), Donna (Angelo) and Mellisa (Daniel). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Thomas (Martina), Kevin, Dylan (Alexcie), Kaitlynn, Lexi, Sawyer, Connor, Caleb, Harrison, Valentina Rose and Dylen. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Jaxon, Jayden, and Malia, and he now joins his great-grandchild, the late Jessiah, in eternal rest. Thomas is survived by his sister Tina, and his brothers Terry (Carmen) and Tim, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is now reunited with his parents, Leo and Annie, and his sisters, the late Lee (Marcel) and Marlene (Ernie). A man of great strength and character, Thomas's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed by many. In keeping with Thomas’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
