Sara Brown Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce Ms. Sara Lynn Brown (née Davidson), age 66, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Born on December 31, 1959, in East York, Ontario, Sara lived a life marked by strength, independence, and a deep love for her family and heritage.

Sara dedicated much of her professional life to public service as a Corrections Officer at the Toronto West Detention Centre and later retired from the Toronto South Detention Centre.

Mother to Byron Davidson and David Brown, and she carried the memory of her late son Reuben Burke close to her heart. She cherished her role as grandmother to Ellie Davidson and Hanna Brown. Sara was also a beloved sister to Marjorie Davidson, David Davidson, and George Davidson. She held fond memories of her late brother Tommy Davidson and honored the legacy of her parents, Catherine Service Davidson and George Black Davidson.

Sara loved spending time outdoors—whether hiking local trails or taking road trips under sunny skies. Her British roots were a source of pride; she expressed this through her home décor, favorite television programs from across the pond, and an ever-present cup of tea. Sara also treasured moments spent in the company of friends and family, and found great comfort and companionship in her cats Larry and Juniper.

A woman of adventurous spirit and quiet strength, Sara touched many lives with her authenticity and kindness. Her memory will live on in those who knew and loved her.

May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
