Together they raised their children Mark (MinJu) of Mississauga and Heather McCoy (Trevor) of Massey. They were blessed with grandchildren Lauren Janeway , Nathan Preuss and Kyle Preuss and later extended family grandchildren Shelby & Julia McCoy and Dharma & Xena Evans. Grant lost his brother and best friend Gary in 2010 and has missed him every day since. Grant & Gail moved to Massey in 1976 and served Massey and area well, as business owners of Janeway Pharmacy. Grant was dedicated to improving his community and served as Mayor in the late 1980s, helping to make numerous community improvements. He was a lover of boating and the beautiful waters of the North Channel where he spent a lot of time with his family, especially his son Mark & grandchildren, all who have inherited his love of boating. Late in life Grant even conquered the mighty Mississippi and inland waterways with a boating trip to northern Florida. Grant will be remembered as a generous and kind soul who was dedicated to his family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will follow at a later date. Our family also wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of St Joseph’s Manor in Elliot Lake for their genuine caring and kindness always given to Dad. Was comforting knowing he was with you all when we could not be. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services, Elliot Lake.
