Cayen, Richard It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard Cayen at the age of 77. Dear husband of Gisèle Cayen of Elliot Lake, to whom he shared 58 cherished years of marriage. Richard was the proud father of Line Breen ( Shayne) of Sault Ste. Marie, Roger Cayen (Joanne) of Wasaga Beach and Angele Cayen (Craig) of Edmonton. He was adored by his 12 grandchildren, Kayla (Scott) of Elliot Lake, Thomas (Megan), Kabrena (Matthew), Kelsey, Cecilia and pre-deceased grandchild Niimkiins, all of Sault Ste. Marie; Marc (Kaitlyn), Mathieu (Dang) of Alliston, Luc (Rebecca) of Pickering, Christine, Caroline (Jason) of Wasaga Beach, and Tyler of Edmonton. Richard was also blessed with 13 great grandchildren and leaving behind many sisters who loved him deeply and will cherish his memory always. He was someone who had a place in the lives of those who knew him. He shared time, experiences and memories with family, friends and others along the way. His life, like all lives, was shaped by both challenges and moments of meaning and accomplishment. While his time with us has ended, he will be remembered by those who knew him in their own way. We take a moment to recognize his life and the connections he made along the way. Richard will be fondly remembered for his love of country music and old vinyl records. A devoted fan of Charley Pride, he never passed up an opportunity to take the dance floor and wouldn’t leave the house without wearing his well-known “Old Fart” ball cap. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services. May he rest in peace.
