On February 26, 2023 the world lost a little bit of its light. Rebecca Catherine Hastings (April 12th, 1998), known fondly as Becky by friends and family who loved her, passed suddenly surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospital (thank you to their staff) in Elliot Lake. Becky was a loving fiancé, mother, daughter, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Her infectious smile and easy laugh will not be forgotten. But we have hope because as her niece Sophia said, “She is with the LORD!” Becky is survived by her fiancé Jamieson McLean and her sons Lorenzo and Luca. Becky is also survived by her parents George and Darlene Hastings, mother and father-in-law, Allyson O’Sullivan and Glenn McLean, brothers Dean (Caitlyn), Mark (Alyssa and their children Sophia, Finnley), Josiah and brother-in-law Matthew McLean (Alyssa and their children Wesley, Ben) and sister-in-law Parker McLean as well as her grandmother Patricia St. Pierre. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of extended family and friends too many to name. At this time the family would like to thank all who have offered words of comfort, thoughts and prayers and made donations to support Jamieson and his sons through this time. The funeral will take place at Grace Christian Centre 1 College Place, Elliot Lake, Ontario on Sat March 4th, 2023 at 10 a.m. Major Darlene Hastings (Becky’s mom) of The Salvation Army Elliot Lake Hope Church officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to GoFundme account set up to help support Jamieson, Lorenzo and Luca through this difficult time or to the Community Outreach Program Grace Christian Centre in appreciation for them hosting us for this celebration of the life. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
