Ralph Thomas Regan, 81, of Elliot Lake, Ontario, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 28, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to parents Cuthbert and Maisie Regan, on June 13, 1941, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Ralph graduated from Elliot Lake Secondary School. He attended Sault College for Electronics. Much of his career was spent in service of the provincial government, working as a health and safety inspector for the Ministry of Labour. He also ran several small businesses in Elliot Lake alongside his wife. He married Barb Seymour, the love of his life, in 1969, who survives him. Ralph is also survived by his son Chad Regan (partner Shannon), granddaughters Eleanor and Maisie of Barrie, Ontario, Wade Regan of Elliot Lake, Ontario, sister Claire Kelly, brother in-law Bucky Seymour and family ,Elliot Lake. Ralph was predeceased by parents Bert and Maisie, and sisters Laura Powers and Jean Regan. Ralph was known for his love of tinkering, aviation, and in his younger days built and flew several aircraft with his close friend Harold Fisher. The most notable: a Cessna 180, with a Snoopy as the Red Baron painted on the tail. Ralph’s bush planes afforded friends and family fly-in fishing, hunting, and camping trips at a moment’s notice. He could often be found at one of his many workbenches around the home rebuilding an engine, or soldering broken electronics. He was quiet, stoic, and sensitive, but also had a wry wit and a love for silly wordplay. Ralph’s family wish to extend their deepest thanks to Elliot Lake’s medical community for their compassion. Dr. J. Long, Dr. M. Stirling, Dr. De T. Bortoli, the nurses at Bayshore and all the nurses at dialysis – especially Judy MacDonald; we appreciate all you have done for us. An informal come and go will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 7 Lakeview Road from 1:00 to 4:00 PM for family and friends. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
