Nicole Stewart McGonegal

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nicole Stewart McGonegal who left us peacefully and unexpectedly at the age of 44 on September 10, 2022, surrounded by friends and family.

Nicole will be lovingly remembered by Mark McGonegal and their children Abbie, Reilly, Declan, Brennan, Nolan and Berkley, her mother Barbara Stewart, brother Allan Stewart, and many devoted friends and relatives. Nicole is predeceased by her father, Arnie Stewart, with whom she shared a close and enduring bond.

A respected massage therapist, Nicole lived in Niagara Falls and Bermuda before finally settling in Elliot Lake to care for her busy, growing family. She adored her six children and was the proudest of parents. Whether at the rink, pool or ball park, she was an enthusiastic cheerleader. But there was room in her heart for everyone and Nicole was always available to lend a smile, some words of wisdom or a helping hand.

The family would like to thank Dr. Anderson and the ICU unit at Health Science North in Sudbury, Ont., who did everything they could while Nicole fought as hard as she could. The outpouring of support from the community is also much appreciated.  A private family service will take place in Elliot Lake. In lieu of flowers or donations, please hug the ones you love and let them know how you feel.
