Louis Ucci Obituary

Ucci, Louis So this guy died. More importantly he lived. For 67 great years. 62 of those 67 years were spent in some capacity as Sheila’s partner. They did kindergarten and all of grade school. They were competitive academically but they were best friends from the beginning. Their friendship grew into a romantic relationship which has endured. On August 20, 1982 they married and quickly welcomed four accidents and one planned, and these incredible children surrounded him with love and support in the end. Vincent (Jen), Philip (Nat), Kevin (Kate), Christina (Jordan) and Lisa (Brayden) spent every waking hour keeping him both comforted and loved. Although five of the names in the previous sentence are in parentheses, there was never any doubt that Louis loved all his in-laws as much as his own children…arguably more. Louis grew up as the only boy in an Italian family and we thank his sisters for not harbouring resentment towards him because of how obviously spoiled he was. He is survived by his sisters Reggie (late Dennis), Maria (Frank) and pre-deceased by Kartzy. Louis also loved and was loved by his wife Sheila’s family; Michael (late), Mary, Martin (Jayne), Kevin (Lise) and Patti (Roger). Louis believed that his greatest example of selfless love was shown to him by both his own and Sheila’s parents. Predeceased by Vincent and Palmida Ucci and Jim and Patricia Ross. We thank them for their guidance. The nicest thing his children ever gave him however were the greatest joy in his life, his seven grandchildren; Daxton, Frankie, Ozzy, Molly, Teegan, Louis and Zeke. Louis’ family however, was never limited to his bloodline. His kind and welcoming nature made everyone he was around feel like family. This includes but is not limited to his AJ Bus Lines family, his golf family and his friends in Sault Ste Marie, Elliot Lake and beyond. For Louis’ entire life, he was devoted to the development and growth of his community, particularly in Elliot Lake. His mark is long lasting through his seemingly endless hours volunteering with the Elliot Lake NBA, Entertainment Series, Children’s Aid, Elliot Lake Parks and Recreation and countless other organizations that are so vast that his wife and children continue to be surprised by the breadth of his efforts. Simply put, everyone and everything he encountered in his life was better for knowing him. There is no doubt that when Louis left this world, surrounded by his family on the morning of September 10th, he left it a far better place than the one he came into 67 years earlier. The Ucci family would like to send a gigantic thank you for the absolutely overwhelming amount of kindness and love they have received since his passing. So rest peacefully Willy Wonka. Thanks for leaving us the chocolate factory. The Ucci family will be celebrating Louis’ life on October 11, 2025. There will be a special park run at Sheriff Creek at 9am with a light lunch at the French Club to follow. Bussing will be provided from Sault Ste Marie and Blind River. The main celebration will begin at 3pm until midnight at the Collin’s Hall with speeches beginning at 6pm and live music to follow. There will be a two-nie bar and food provided. Children are welcome and the goal of the day will be to celebrate Louis’ life the way he lived it, by having a good time. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
