Lewis, Karen It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Karen Lewis of Elliot Lake on September 20th, 2025, at the age of 62 years young. She was the beloved wife of Ken Lewis for 38 years, spending a total of 44 years together, in which they shared many adventures and lots of love. Karen was the best mom and best friend to her only child, Jillian Secord (Jason Secord), who could write a book describing how amazing she was. Her two grandchildren, Kailyn and Kaiden Secord, will cherish their fond memories of their Grandma. Karen was predeceased by her parents Walter and Jessie Wood (née Robertson) of Scotland, where Karen began her life, until finding home in Elliot Lake. Karen was also a respected “Boss Lady” to her employees at the Elliot Lake Post Office, where she was the supervisor until her recent retirement in April 2025. Words cannot express the loss and devastation of her unexpected passing. She was very loved in life and will continue to be loved forever and always. As Karen was an avid reader, we ask that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Elliot Lake Library in her honour. Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held Saturday September 27, 2025, from 2-4 P.M. at the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre, 36 Ontario, Ave.. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
