Surrounded by her family, June Emma Hefferman (86, née Watts), passed peacefully with the help of MAID, Monday, July 17, 2023 in the city of Elliot Lake.
She was born June 1, 1937 to parents William and Alice Watts (predeceased), in Timmins.Married July 6, 1956 to Bruce Hefferman of the Canadian Armed Forces, June was a proud military wife who enjoyed her own career with CAF Food Services both in Canada and overseas, joining in her husband’s travels. Her culinary skills (and her legendary tourtière) will echo among her family for generations.Loving mother of Jody Wilson, Michael Hefferman (Cindy), Cindy Mathison (Tracy), and Stacey Hefferman (Marie-Andrée Morin).Grandmother to Courtney Bielak (Alex), Sam Wilson (Nikki Gaudreau), Christyne Mathison (predeceased), Sarah June Hefferman (predeceased), and Jacob Hefferman (Charlene).
She was preceded in death by siblings: Lloyd Watts, Pat Harwood (Richard), Durrell Watts (Elaine); and survived by brother Gary Watts (Marilyn).Close cousin to both Marlene and Lizette.Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.June loved family, cooking, music and dancing. She was a gifted vocalist who infused her own melodic twist into a favoured tune, “The Birth of the Blues”.No funeral arrangement, but June's wishes included a Celebration of Life with family, July 17, 2023.
