Judy Soucie Obituary

JUDY LYN SOUCIE (NEE CASSELMAN) 1946 –2023 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Lyn Soucie aged 77 on December 21, 2023 at St. Josephs General Hospital in Elliot Lake. Born on August 04, 1946 in East York to the late Raymond Aiden and the late Alada Casselman. She was sister to Aiden(predeceased) and Richard Paul Casselman(predeceased). Judy was the caring and loving wife of 53 years to Harry Andrew Soucie (predeceased), nurturing, gentle and supportive mother of Troy and Tara, admired and respected mother-in-law to Trevor Santary and proud and adoring grandmother of Dallas and Dylan Soucie and Trent and Carter Santary. She was also a beloved and cherished sister-in-law, cousin and aunt to many and a kind and compassionate friend to all who were lucky enough to have known her. Judy was a dedicated employee of Royal Bank of Canada where she worked from young adulthood to retirement. Faced with many hardships and traumas from an early age into her senior years, Judy always displayed an unwavering positive attitude and an incredibly strong fighting spirit. Remarkably Judy was a four time cancer survivor and her strength and resilience was a true inspiration to all who knew her. Judy was a master shopper, housekeeper and organizer with a natural talent for interior design. She made anyone who entered her home feel comfortable and welcome with her sweet, easygoing and warm nature and always accepted everyone as they were. You will be greatly missed by those you’ve left behind but leave us with the comfort of countless fond memories that will always be held closely to our hearts. A special thank you from Troy and Tara to Doug and Sylvia Soucie for all the comfort and support you provided during our time in Elliot Lake, our Mum treasured you both dearly not only as close family but as true friends. As per Judys wishes there will be no funeral service. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Josephs General Hospital for their genuine compassion and care while Judy fought her final battle.
