August 4, 1926 - June 10, 2021

At the age of 94, Joan passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Manor, in Elliot Lake, on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Joan was the beloved wife of Ray (predeceased). She was the daughter of Herbert and Sarah Tait. Loving mother of Susan (Edwin, predeceased) Skorlatowski, Shirley (Wayne) Wisniewski and Peter. Grandmother to Sarah (Isaac), Ashley (Mike), Kim (Bryan) and Michael. Great-grandmother to Bryanna, Leif, Vera, Kira, Thomas and Chase.

Joan's pride and passion was her collection of Royal Doulton jugs. She enjoyed volunteering at the St. Joseph's Hospital Gift Shop and loved meeting people. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, gardening and bird watching. Joan always loved a good joke or story. She was always up for having a chat with tea and dessert which was the cure all for any situation.

A memorial will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to make donations could donate to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Groh, the staff of St. Joseph's Manor and Huron Lodge for their care and dedication during Joan's final years. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
