Jane Isabel (Purvey) Doherty

Jane Isabel (Purvey) Doherty passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2023. Born in Toronto, Jane was raised in Peterborough, youngest child of Geoffrey and Beatrice Purvey. Jane worked in law offices in Peterborough before moving first to Victoria, then to Vancouver B.C. She eventually moved back to Peterborough and became a realtor. Jane met her husband Leo, (deceased) selling him a house. They eventually moved to Elliot Lake where they could enjoy the outdoors they loved so much. Jane is survived by her sister Marlene, niece Laura (Vince), great niece Bria and great nephew Jameson, stepdaughter Megan Doherty and her many cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her brother Ken. Her quick wit, quirky sense of humour and positive attitude will be missed. The family would especially like to thank Debbie Valley for her kindness and assistance during this sad time. Jane was especially fond of animals and her church family, in lieu of flowers a donation to S.A.D. or the Grace Christian Centre would be appreciated by the family.

A celebration of Jane’s life will be held at 11:00 am on September 6, 2023 at the Grace Christian Centre, 1 College Place in Elliot Lake ON. Luncheon to follow.
