Heather Fulford Obituary

Heather Mary Fulford

August 22, 1942 - March 13, 2023

On March 13th,2023 in her 81st year Heather passed away unexpectedly following complications from surgery.  Dearly loved by family and friends her comforting presence, sparkle, and love of life will be greatly missed.  Heather grew up in the small town of Wiveliscombe, Somerset and worked in Somerset County Hall in Taunton after studying near Bristol before her decision to emigrate to Toronto with 3 friends from her office to seek the bustle of city life.  She was always sociable with many friends and was enthusiastic about organizing events for the local Young Farmers'  Association.  Over the years, she became an avid knitter creating many lovely sweaters for her nieces and nephews both in England and Canada.  During her early life in Canada she worked hard at various jobs, took up sailing, then golf.  In later life she fell in love and married Ted Fulford with whom she shared many adventures gradually moving north with different enterprises and their shared love of dogs.  She was always welcoming and had the knack of making many friends and throwing herself into activities wherever she was.  She loved the Canadian countryside and was an enthusiastic walker joining several groups in Elliot Lake, one based at Sherrif Creek as well as joining a local chapter of The Red Hat Society.  Heather loved adult colouring and was a regular visitor at the library participating and volunteering in many events there.  She continued to make friends wherever she lived, supporting them and enjoying trips out, various activies and holidays with plenty of laughs and fun.  She will be missed very much by all of us. Heather was predeceased by Ted, her husband of 34 years.  She is survived by her siblings Jan and Alison (Richard); her nieces and nephews  Kirsty, Katy (Louis); Otto, Lars, William, and Lesley as well as many beloved cousins.  She is also survived by her Sister-in-law Shirley (Bill) and their daughter Jeni (Sean). In lieu of flowers a donation to The Society for Animals in distress. would be greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 5th 2023 at 1PM at Heather's apartment.
