Harold Hosken Obituary

The Hosken family is deeply saddened by the passing of its patriarch Harold Hosken, at the age of 82 years Harold left us on rhe 10th of January 2024, at St. Joseph's General Hospital in Elliot Lake, after a brave fight against cancer. He has rejoined the love of his life, Valerie Hosken on the other side. Born on the 10th of March 1941, in Englehart, ON, Harold was the oldest of seven children, and was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Millicent Hosken, and his younger brother Ricky. He will be missed by his brothers Joey (Barb), Brian (Charlene), and his sisters Linda, Lorraine and Francis. He will also be missed by his son Harold (Kate), son Randy (Heidi), son Shane (Randi) and daughter Sherry, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Harold provided for his family over the years as a miner in Manitouwadge, Montana, and Elliot Lake, where he retired from mining. He then worked at the hospital in Elliot Lake for a few years, before retiring once again to work at enjoying life full time. He loved to travel with Val over the years, and could be seen at the local pool hall as recently as a few months ago. You always knew when he was around, as his big booming laugh would be an obvious indicator. There will be a celebration of life sometime in the future. No definite plans at this time. Donations can be made to St. Joseph's General Hospital in Elliot Lake, for Oncology Department renovations. Arrangements entrusted to Alternative funeral Services.
