Emily Eve McElrea

Emily Eve McElrea, nee Sheppard, passed peacefully October 2, 2023 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, ON. Born July 2, 1940 in Wroxton, Saskatchewan, she grew up in Toronto and moved to Iron Bridge, ON at 14 when the family purchased Wilderness Lodge.  Within days she met Ranald (Ron) McElrea who would become her devoted husband of 64 years.  They married December 6, 1958, travelled widely and loved the outdoors.  Emily is predeceased by her father George, her step-father Gilbert (Gib) Berry, her mother Elsie, her sister Joan Daniher and grandson Ethan McElrea.

She leaves behind her husband Ron, her son Blain (Tracey), her daughter Kari, grandchildren Britney Kingsbury, Dylan Warren, Alex McElrea, Mackenzie McElrea and Logan McElrea.  Emily loved her grandchildren dearly and also her great-grandchildren Mason, Whyatt, Evan and Myles.  She is also survived by her brother Edward Sheppard and by many friends and extended family members.
