Edward Mack

After a long battle with COPD, it is with great sadness that the family of Edward Mack announces his passing at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Monday, October 9th, 2023 at the age of 75. Ed was born August 2nd, 1948 in Kirkland Lake, ON. He was predeceased by his parents George and Annette, his brother Jim and his son David. He is survived by his wife Annie; sons, Ed (Elizabeth), Christopher and Cory; his sister Debbie; his daughters, Amanda (Gino), Tracy (Kelly), Wanda (Rick) and Melanie (Joe). He was lovingly known as “Papa” to 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Ed worked as a miner for more than 30 years around Manitoba and Northern Ontario. He was an avid outdoorsman and could often be found camping, or riding around on his ATV with his oxygen tank in toll. He was not going to let his condition slow him down. He loved his family and was the happiest when we were all gathered together.

The Mack Family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Joe’s, the palliative care program, care partners, and Bayshore Nursing for all their wonderful care. A special thank you goes out to Liz Armstrong, RN and Jamie from PRORESP, for brightening up his last days.
