Dennis Major Obituary

It's with heavy hearts filled with sadness that we've had to say: Go with God, Dennis, my love. You were my life long companion, my best friend, my confident and my soulmate for these past 60 years. He leaves behind three children Robert, Richard (Alanna) et Renelle, seven grand children Nathan, Melanie, Brittany, Jasmine, Audrey, Troy and Chad, as well as a great grand child Amber. Also mourning his departure is his twin brother Donald (Iona), with whom he shared lifelong adventures, confidences and interests. Saddened by his loss are many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention and his many friends and colleagues. Dennis was born in Williamstown on the 17th of November, 1936 to Germaine (nee Brunet) and David "Bunny" Major. He arrived in the fifties in the early days of Elliot Lake, and retired from Rio Algom in 1992 after several years of working in the mines. He was a kind hearted and generous soul who loved having people visit his sugar camp he and Donald shared. He had a great sense of humour, and always had a smile on his face. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in nature and was a volunteer with North Shore Fisheries after his retirement.
The funeral service date has yet to be determined. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
