Dennis Lang Obituary

Lang, Dennis It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dennis Lang. Dennis Lang, 84, died peacefully August 31st, 2025, in Sudbury, Ontario surrounded, in person and in spirit, by his loving family. Dennis was born on August 27th, 1941 to Jacob Lang and Tina Lolacher in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. He had three siblings: Reg, Marlene, and Pat. Dennis attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Dennis Lang married Joan Fournier on October 28th, 1966. Known to all as “the lovebirds,” Dennis and Joan had 4 children: Renee, Camie, Niki and Stephen. He had a successful career as a Civil Engineer in the fields of transportation planning, roadway design, and water resource planning. He was a deep emotional thinker as well as an intellectual. He was an avid puzzler, amateur painter, bingo caller, and had a passion for food. Dennis is survived by Joan, his “sweetie,” wife, and soulmate of 59 years, his son and three daughters - Stephen (Katja), Renee (Genevieve), Camie (Rob) and Niki (Abdel), along with three grandsons Finn, William and Alex. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and generous friend. Considerate, sensitive, curious and a great listener, Dennis loved and respected life of all sorts. He was a wise man with a great sense of humour and a strong quiet presence. His eyebrows, finger points and wry smirks could say a thousand words. Dennis will be forever remembered, loved and keenly missed by family and friends both near and far. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
