Danny Vance Obituary

Danny Vance December 28, 1947 – April 16, 2025 Danny Vance passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 77, with his family by his side, after a courageous 37-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Danny was an accomplished mechanic, known and respected for his expertise. He generously shared his knowledge with others as a shop teacher at ELSS, where he created lasting memories and meaningful connections. A true lover of the outdoors, Danny found his greatest joy at camp, his favorite place in the world. He cherished time spent with friends and was known for his quick wit and warm humor. He loved to laugh and share a good joke. Danny faced his diagnosis with remarkable strength and grace, meeting each day with a smile. His resilience was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Lynne, his daughters Hillory (Tyler) and Meagan (Ray), and his cherished grandchildren Burke, Georgia, Mackenzie, and Sadie. Danny was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Vance; his siblings Faith (Vaughn) and Bing (Morag); and his brother-in-law Peter. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Jane (Tom), Tim (Jane), Cathy, and Elaine (Dave), and by many extended family members and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the team at the March of Dimes who supported Danny and family throughout the years—especially David, Sarah, Psudi, Amanda, and the many other team members whose kindness and care made all the difference. Special thanks as well to ICU nurses Wendy and Esther for their compassionate care in support of Danny and family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada in Danny’s memory
