Bernadette Tremblay Obituary

After a brief illness in her 87th year, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elliot Lake in the early morning of Tuesday April 12th 2022 Originally from La Sarre Quebec, Bernadette moved to Spanish Ontario in the early seventies with her late husband, Gilbert Tremblay, where they raised their three children. She was active in the Church (St. Sebastian), active in the community of Spanish. She was also the original owner of the famous “Lucky’s Snack Bar” where people would make this one of their stops along their journey, just to have a burger and fries and their famous gravy. Busses, baseball teams, would stop after long days, and she always served customers with her infectious smile. Bernadette loved the church, she was strong in her faith to God, she continued to serve the community, by volunteering her time to Church fundraising events, such as church suppers, bazaars, yard sales, she would help prepare meals for holiday events, such as Valentine’s dinner, Thanksgiving, and also prepared meals for funerals. She was famous for her desserts, especially her fudge. Pre-deceased by her husband, Gilbert, Survived by her three children, Sylvie Bordeleau (Marvin), Robert Tremblay (Mary Rose) Dominique Tremblay (Dorothy), Grandchildren, Emmanuel, Sidney, Zach (Ashley) Jeremy (Brooke) Dan (Lindsey) Renee, Ryan, Blair Lamirande and Great Grandchildren; Gracie, Max, Waylon, Aspen, Amelie Belanger. She was also a special mother to Mike Wagoner and Tillie McLeod, where she loved to spend every special holiday dinner with, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, barbeques. She loved and looked forward to those special moments. She will be deeply missed by many family and friends both in Ontario and Quebec. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the St. Joseph’s Elliot Lake Hospital, 3rd Floor nursing staff, Palliative, and Hospice care and Dr. Nelson for all the support they provided to the family during this difficult time. As per Covid-19 protocol all visitors must wear a mask. Visitation Services will be on Monday April 18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 25 Victoria Crescent, Spanish, ON. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church followed by a private family burial. A light lunch will be provided after the church service in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Sebastian Church, or a charity of choice.
