Wabegijig, Peter Darwin Mark It is profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Mark Darwin Wabegijig at his residence in Elliot Lake Ontario at the age of 59. Beloved son of Gwen (nee Ozawagosh) and the late Ernest Wabegijig. Brother to Peggy (niece Judy), late Cleo (Annette), Valerie (Gerald), Charlotte (late Kurt), Jackie (Brian), Bertha (Vic), Corinne, Mary (Greg), Vicky (niece Jessica [Mathew]), Eric, Janet, Bonnie (Bill). Predeceased by siblings Beverly, Ken, Stephen and Benny. Also Predeceased by grandparents Stella (nee Jacobs), William Ozawagosh and Joseph and Charlotte Wabegijig. Special godfather to Ophelia with whom he shared a special bond, plus godfather to Rochelle and the late Jasimine. Peter will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members from Wiikwemikoong, Atikameksheng and Cutler. In his youth Peter could be found hunting and fishing around the hills of Whitefish. Peter along with family members enjoyed picking berries. As an avid outdoorsman Peter would hike and bike around the bush in Elliot Lake. As an avid stargazer and weatherman he would readily give you reports. He was very creative and intuitive when something needed to be done around the house he went ahead and fixed it. Peter learned to do leatherwork and woodcarving a variety of bowls and walking sticks. He was very mechanically inclined he could be found repairing or replacing vehicle parts for his sisters. Besides keeping up with world events his favorite pastime was following F1 car racing. Peter will be greatly missed by those who knew him. As per his wishes there will be no formal service. The Sky has gained another Star.
